About the Guaranteed HealthCare Access Plan

The question no longer is "if" the healthcare system needs fixing, but "how" it is to be fixed. The preferred approaches, as reflected by the leading presidential candidates of both parties, are incremental in nature and fundamentally wedded to the current system. Virtually every one of the proposals reinforces and expands the role of employer-based health insurance, the single component of the current system that is most responsible for the mess we find ourselves in.

The truth of the matter is that the system is so broken that only a fundamental redesign will allow it to deliver cost containment, quality service, broad-based access and individual choice simultaneously. We firmly believe that the Guaranteed HealthCare Access plan is a uniquely American solution that enlists both the federal government and the private sector in addressing all three of these objectives. It is the government that guarantees that every individual has the means with which to purchase a rich and comprehensive health plan. It is the private sector that places the consumer in control of the delivery system promoting both cost containment and quality.
